Senator and 2016 president candidate Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke on the Senate
floor against the Obama administration’s immigration policies and in
favor of S. 2146, the Stop Sanctuary Policies and Protect Americans
Act. "Sanctuary cities" around the country have polices to shelter
illegal immigrants and do not use local resources to enforce federal
immigration laws. After Senator Cruz, Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ)
rebutted Senator Cruz’s arguments, and argued passionately against the
bill.
