Shocking
reports about the possible assassination of Washington Post journalist
Jamal Khashoggi underscore the need for the public to shake the Trump
administration out of its shameful, shortsighted moral slumber on human
rights.
Turkish officials have powerful evidence — including video and audio recordings — that strongly suggests Khashoggi, a critic of the Saudi Arabian monarchy, was lured to the Saudi consulate in Turkey, where intelligence officials say he was likely tortured, murdered and dismembered.
President
Trump has mumbled, fumbled and refused to take action. As outraged U.S.
lawmakers demanded that the U.S. impose sanctions on the Saudi regime,
Trump’s first thought was about money.
