Mumia Abu-Jamal Undergoes Vision-Saving Procedure

On the morning of February 22nd, 2020, Mumia, who has been suffering from failing eyesight, went through a successful procedure to remove cataracts from his right eye. Cataracts on his left eye was removed on August 29th, 2019. Mumia supporters have been putting public pressure to make this happen, and after months of uncertainty, Mumia's vision has been restored.

Putting pressure on the prison to cure Mumia's vision is an example of how everyday folk have the ability to make monumental changes towards a fairer and more just society. Wherever there is injustice, people are struggling against it, waves of resistance are overtaking the globe, because now, more than ever, we are coming to understand the Martin Luther King Jr. quote "No one is free until we are all free."
