Global News: China health officials reported a slight rise in the number of COVID-19 virus cases on Monday stating there were 2,048 new cases after three days of decline.
They also said the death toll now stands at 1,770. Officials said that evidence showing a decline all over the country, except in Wuhan, meant prevention efforts were working.
The government also called on people who have recovered from COVID-19 to donate blood plasma, saying initial results in using plasma-derived therapies have been effective in helping cure infected patients in severe and critical conditions.
