New York State Senate GOP to Conduct Hearing Into Parole of Cop Killers and Cuomo Conditional Pardons

ALBANY — Upset with the recent releases from prison of several cop killers like Herman Bell, state Senate Republicans are planning a public hearing into the state parole system.

The hearing will also look into Gov. Cuomo’s recent decision to grant widespread conditional pardons to more than 24,000 parolees like Bell so they can vote.

Another topic will be the voting rights granted to at least 77 sexual predators who were civilly confined in psychiatric hospitals after their jail terms were up because they were deemed too dangerous to be released into the community.
