On July 20, the 2018 ImageNation Outdoors Film and Music Festival, along with the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, will present a screening of Fences, starring Denzel Washington and Viola Davis. Davis won an Academy Award for her performance in the 2016 film.
The screening will be preceded by a special musical performance from Suzan-Lori Parks and the Band. Parks is
considered one of the most accomplished figures of her time and made her mark
as a playwright, screenwriter, novelist, and musician. She gained
numerous accolades that include landing on Time Magazine's "100
Innovators for the Next Wave" and earning a Pulitzer Prize Award for her
popular play Topdog/Underdog (2002).
