Dan Coats, Director of National Intelligence, Testifies on World Threats

Director Coats, along with the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee on national security threats. Director Coats said cyber threats are one of his greatest concerns and reiterated that the U.S. is under cyberattack.

Coats told lawmakers that the White House is “actively engaged” on election security but said it is “highly likely” Russia would seek to influence the 2018 midterm elections.

In addition, both intelligence chiefs expressed skepticism about reports that North Korea is willing to talk to the U.S. about nuclear disarmament.
