New York Considers a More Flexible School Year

Albany -  A 180-day school year is the law in New York, but may not be for much longer.

State education policymakers are currently weighing a more flexible school year — one that can start earlier than September and be counted in hours, not days, state Education Commissioner MaryEllen Elia told the Times Union on Monday.
