Trailblazers in Black History: Ira Aldridge

Ira Aldridge’s name is probably not familiar to most people but he has the distinction of being the first African American actor to play Othello on the British stage. KPBS arts reporter Beth Accomando says the Old Globe’s production of Red Velvet wants to bring Aldridge’s achievements to a wider audience.
