HOOSICK FALLS — The biggest contractor in Hoosick Falls is suing
Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics and Honeywell International, saying a
manufacturing chemical contaminated groundwater with such devastating
impact on its business that employees had to be let go and as it
struggles to make money.
R.M. Bacon, an excavator and construction company for more than 30
years, is being represented by Weitz and Luxenburg, the same law firm
that in February 2016 filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of Hoosick
Falls village residents against Saint Gobain and Honeywell over the
release of PFOA or perfluorooctanoic acid.
Months later, it filed the first personal injury lawsuit on the grounds
that PFOA exposure directly caused the plaintiff's ulcerative colitis
and other illnesses.
