Friday, May 1, 1992, President George H.W. Bush gave a live address to
the nation in response to the violence in L.A. that followed the
acquittal of the four police officers who beat Rodney King and it is
presented here in its entirety. He expresses outrage at the violence and
terror of the previous two days and vows to restore order.
