French Election: Macron Uses Manifesto Launch to Attack Rivals

Emmanuel Macron has promised to stamp out inequalities, downsize parliament and put a stop to nepotism in French politics.

The leader of the ‘En Marche!’ (‘Onwards!’) movement, has unveiled his election manifesto for next month’s presidential vote.

He also used the Paris speech to attack right-wing Republican Party candidate François Fillon and the far-right National Front’s Marine Le Pen.

“It’s a serious and important moment, because two candidates have chosen to propose conservative projects or those of regression and retreat for the country. Yet they have also decided to deliberately attack the rule of law and, in particular, the authority of the justice system,” he said.
