Calling nominee Jeff Sessions unfit to the head the Justice Department, Rev.
Sharpton will join other civil rights leaders to protest the hearings
and demand that elected officials reject his nomination, as
well as question them for not delaying the hearings.
According to Sharpton: “A Sessions-led Justice Department will
be a nightmare that the United States can’t wake up from and lead to an
era of civil disobedience. This rushed hearing is an insult to the
American people and an affront
to democracy.”
Reverend Sharpton will also meet with
the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to demand
action against Sessions.
