Emerging Artist Hawa Diallo to Unveil Restored Amadou Diallo Mural in the Bronx

Bronx, NY – Emerging artist and former refugee Ms. Hawa Diallo will reveal the newly restored Amadou Diallo mural on January 28th at 12 p.m. The unveiling will take place at 1157 Wheeler Avenue in the Bronx.

The 18 foot mural honors the spot where Amadou Diallo, an African immigrant, died in a hail of 41 police bullets on February 4th,1999. 

Hawa Diallo is restored mural to honor the life of Amadou Diallo and the Amadou Diallo Foundation. Hawa Diallo has no relation to Kadiatou Diallo, but they are both Fulani from West Africa.

The unveiling leads into the 2nd annual Amadou Diallo Foundation Benefit Dinner, taking place February 4th. Ms. Diallo’s latest exhibit will follow both of these events.
