NYC Weather Forecast: Arctic Cold Front, Subzero Wind Chills, Up to 3 Inches of Snow

NEW YORK, NY — The holiday window displays of Christmastime NYC won't have to fake their frosty edges this weekend, according to a series of bone-chilling alerts issued Thursday by the National Weather Service (NWS) in connection to the "arctic cold front" that blew in overnight.

Wednesday night's low temperature of 26 degrees won't budge much during the day Thursday, when the high temp is likely to linger around 27, forecasters said.

“New York City is expecting the coldest temperatures and lowest wind chills of the season on Thursday and Friday,” NYC Emergency Management Commissioner Joseph Esposito warned Wednesday.
