Assemblyman Blake Comments on the Plane Crash in Colombia

Early Tuesday morning, we were shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic crash of flight CP-2933 while on route to Medellin, Colombia. At least seventy-one people perished in the crash, but thankfully, rescue teams in Colombia have found six survivors and they have been transported to local hospitals where they are being treated for injuries sustained in the crash. Our deepest condolences to those who have been affected by this tragedy, especially to the families and loved ones of the Brazilian Soccer team Chapecoense, who were traveling to Colombia to compete in the first stage of the South American Cup Finals. Let us keep the people of Brazil and Colombia in our thoughts and prayers.

Michael Blake represents Assembly District 79 in New York City.
