Principal Ousted After Black, Latino Students Were Allegedly Barred from Enrolling

Fallout from an alleged effort to keep black and Hispanic kids out of a sought-after elementary school in the Bronx has spread as the school’s principal has been demoted, the Daily News has learned.

PS 24 Assistant Principal Manny Verdi claims Dinowitz’s staffer was allowed to screen kindergarten applications to keep minority and low-income students out of the upscale neighborhood’s school.
