Commuter Train Crashes Into Hoboken, New Jersey, Station, Killing 1: Officials

A commuter train plowed into a platform inside New Jersey Transit's Hoboken terminal Thursday morning, killing at least one person and injuring as many as 100, officials said.

Witnesses reported seeing bruised and bloodied passengers, including one woman pinned underneath concrete, after the crash occurred just before 9 a.m. ET.

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie told MSNBC at least one person was killed and all victims from inside the station, teeming at rush-hour, were removed in the morning. Initial reports provided to NBC News placed the number of fatalities at three.
