White Movie Stars Discuss Black Civil Rights March (1963)

This video was published on  YouTube on June 29, 2016.

Rare film footage shot at the home of actor #CharltonHeston where some of Hollywood’s top white stars had gathered to plan their participation in the 1963 March on Washington for Black American civil rights where #MartinLutherKing delivered his famous ‘I Have A Dream’ speech.

Some of those gathered included #MarlonBrando, #TonyCurtis, #JamesGarner, #RitaGarner, #TonyFranciosa, #RitaMoreno and #JudyFranciosa (along with a black attorney for the NAACP, #TomNeusom). Heston’s role as chairperson of this unofficial group of actor/activists is somewhat ironic given his ultra-conservative views and deep antagonism towards Black Americans.
