FBI Director James Comey outlined cybersecurity threats to America and
how the U.S. government is responding at a Symantec Government Symposium
in Washington, DC. Director Comey made a pitch to the private sector to
cooperate with government agencies to reduce the threat of cyber
intrusions. Mr. Comey also answered questions about attempts by Russian
hackers to gain access to U.S. voter databases. He declined to talk
specifically about the investigation, but said the FBI takes “very
seriously” any attempt by foreign actors to influence America’s election
system or anything else.
