National Security Council Notes: Susan Rice's Travel to China

The following statement was issued today by National Security Council spokesperson Ned Price.

From July 24-27, National Security Advisor Susan Rice will travel to Beijing and Shanghai, China.  In Beijing, she will meet with senior government officials, including State Councilor Yang Jiechi, to consult on a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues in advance of the President’s travel to China in September for the G-20 Leaders’ Summit.  In Shanghai, Ambassador Rice will meet with business executives to discuss conditions for U.S. businesses operating in China. While there, she also will interact with private Chinese citizens.  Throughout her visit, Ambassador Rice will underscore the United States’ commitment to expanding practical cooperation and constructively managing differences with China. This visit will be Ambassador Rice’s fourth trip to China as National Security Advisor.
