Senate Leaders McConnell and Reid on State of the Union Address

 
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) opened the Senate talking about President Obama’s 2014 State of the Union address. He said the president had never ended his presidential campaign, blaming the president for a slow economic recovery, rising health care costs, and a shrinking middle class. Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) responded, giving the Obama administration credit for job creation, an unemployment rate of five percent, lowering the number of Americans without health insurance, an increase in renewable energy production.
