Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) responded to comments Supreme
Court Justice Anontin Scalia made in oral argument the previous day,
saying that he made an “endorsement of racist theories.” He said Justice
Scalia’s remarks on affirmative action were “racist in application if
not intent” and suggested “African American students are inherently
intellectually inferior to other students.”
