On December 19 at 10 a.m., Rev. Al Sharpton, President of National Action Network, Kadiatou Diallo, Amadou Diallo’s mother, and the NAN community will hold a rally to denounce the promotion of NYPD Officer Kenneth Boss to the rank of sergeant.
Amadou Diallo was killed
in 1999 in a hail of 41 bullets while standing innocently and unarmed in
the entry way to his home in the Bronx. Boss was one of four officers tried for the shooting.
Kadiatou Diallo will detail why
the promotion is “a stab in the heart”
Rev. Sharpton will also
discuss the need for comprehensive reform to New York’s civil service
laws which recklessly allowed Officer Kenneth Boss to be wrongfully
promoted.
The rally will take place at the National Action Network headquarters, 106 West 145th Street at Lenox Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard.
The event will be streamed live at www.nationalactionnetwork.net and on WLIB 1190 AM.
