Justice Department Briefing on Counterterrorism Efforts

Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey held a briefing on the U.S. government’s counter-terrorism efforts in response to the attacks in Paris the previous week. They offered assurances that no credible threat existed against the U.S. Their remarks came after the ISIL* militant group released a video threatening an attack on New York City.

*The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), or the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS or DAISH/DAESH in Arabic), is a militant group that has called itself the Islamic State.
