Dual-Currency Policy Divides Cubans


Cuba's two-currency system - the Cuban peso and the CUC, which is also known as the "convertible currency" - has economic benefits. But the only way Cubans can earn in CUCs is by working in sectors that are connected to the outside world, such as tourism. The disparity is tempting many medical professionals to change careers.
