When the conflict in Syria first began, many hoped the United Nations might be able to find a solution. After the Security Council vetoed three resolutions, however, that hope quickly faded. On Monday, world leaders will gather for the UN General Assembly, with Syria featuring high on the agenda. Al Jazeera's James Bays reports.
