Libya plans to hold its first
elections in four decades later this month. More than 2.7 million people have
registered to vote. But members of some minority groups accused of being loyal
to Muammar Gaddafi, the late leader toppled in a popular uprising, say the
upcoming elections are meaningless to them as they continue to be marginalized.
About 40,000 Tawerghans are now
living in squalid camps on the outskirts of numerous cities after being
displaced from their hometown. They say many of their people could not register
to vote because of their displacement. Omar al-Saleh reports from Benghazi.
