North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has made a rare address to the nation when he spoke at an event that marked 66 years since the founding of the political organization, the Korean Children's Union. It was his second appearance since he succeeded his father and took power last December. In his speech, he addressed 20-thousand youths brought together from across the country for the week-long celebration. State media described the event as "unprecedented." Kim Jong-un is already hailed as the Great Successor and his speech indicates that he might be trying to break the silence observed by his late father. Al Jazeera's Gerald Tan reports.
