Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has directed that flags on state government buildings be flown at half-staff on Wednesday, May 2 in honor of a New York naval officer who died on April 26.
Lieutenant Christopher E. Mosko died while conducting combat operations in Nawa district, Ghazni province, Afghanistan. He was assigned as a Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Platoon Commander to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force, Afghanistan.
He was stationed at EOD Mobile Unit 3, San Diego, California. Lieutenant Mosko was from Pittsford.
“I join with all New Yorkers in mourning the loss of Lieutenant Mosko,” said Governor Cuomo.
“We will be forever grateful for the service and sacrifice of this New Yorker. I send my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and fellow sailors.”
