Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg announce new graphic warning labels for tobacco products designed to encourage people to quit and young people to not acquire this dangerous habit.
Ah, video did not play, just endless circling, a word, more circling.
Government would not dare try putting graphic pictures of grossly obese people, on potato chip packages, or red meat, or images of stroke or heart attack victims.
Nor would they even consider to show graphic images of people puking, men beating their wives, teens bloodied bodies, shot dead by a peer ~ ditto heart attack, stroke victims, people hooked up to dialysis ~ that is kidney/liver damage due to alcohol consumption.
Anyone that does not know that use of tobacco products (and eating red meat, drinking alcoholic beverages, including beer and wine) is bad for their health must be in Kindergarten or below.
The same scare tactics used in war on drugs, has not lessened the use of marijuana, cocaine, LSD, heroin and so on.
The single most thing that will turn the nation into a non-smoking one, is taxes. I think NYC is highest, with 85% of the cost of a pack of cigarettes going to taxes or more than 1/2 the cost of a product is for taxes, not product.
LOL if the same were true of other health hazards (some listed above) there would be a huge public outcry.
But people applaud such things, until the set precedent moves onto something they now take as freedom of choice.
I checked the video and it played with no problem. I suggest you check you do the following:
1. Check your Internet connection to see if the signal is strong.
2. If you use Internet Explorer, it can be a pain, as far as allowing you to play the video. Not sure why, but even I've had trouble in the past.
If you're not already using them, you may want to try the "Firefox" or "Google Chrome" browsers. I use Google Chrome, but both have worked well for me.
Thanks so much for spreading the word! Looking forward to seeing you Saturday.
