Oneida County Sheriff's Office Warns of National Grid Scam

by Luke Parsnow

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is alerting the regional community about a National Grid scam.

The Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page Monday that it is investigating a complaint from a local business. The owner reported that if he did not pay over $900 in "Money Pacl-Express Cards" within an hour, the business's power would be shut off, authorities said.

The business owner immediately suspected a scam and googled the number (1-877-474-1121) which returned several results stating this number is linked to a scam, the Sheriff's Office said.
