N.Y. Teachers Union in Big Push to Remind Parents Their Kids Can Opt Out of Standardized Tests

ALBANY — With standardized student testing starting this week, the powerful state teachers union is aggressively reminding parents that kids can opt out.

NYSUT also has a fact sheet on the opt-out issue for parents.

“We believe it’s important for parents to know their rights, including their right to opt their children out of state tests,” said union spokesman Carl Korn.
