Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) and Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME) held a press
conference at the U.S. Capitol to introduce the Patient Freedom Act of
2017, a replacement bill for the Affordable Care Act, often referred to
as Obamacare. They contrasted their bill against the existing health
care law, and explained how the Patient Freedom Act would, in their
words, grant states and patients more options while keeping health care
costs transparent and “truly affordable.”
