Scam Alert: USAA Members Targeted in Elaborate Email Scheme

An email was received today at the From The G-Man office that was extremely disturbing, and we feel it should be shared with all USAA members and the general public.

The sender, USAA Communications (kingmacaveli2019@gmail.com), stated the following:

Here's the problem. No one affiliated with this news site, or "The G-Man Interviews", is a USAA member. Moreover, no one in the office has ever served in the military.

A call was placed to USAA to inform them of the suspicious email, and a customer service representative named "Andrew" explained that it was part of an elaborate scam targeting not only USAA members, but members at Wells Fargo and other major corporations across the country.

"The people behind this are hoping to get at least one member to log on and supply account information. Once the account is accessed, they can steal personal information or money and move it around to other accounts they set up," said the representative.

From The G-Man forwarded the email to USAA so it could be passed on to its fraud investigation division.

Contact USAA for more information on the scam and to learn what measures you can take to protect your account, identity and money.
