NAN, Civil Rights Leaders Comment on NYPD Commissioner's Resignation (Full Press Conference)

Harlem, NY - The National Action Network held a press conference today after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the resignation of New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton.

Reverend Al Sharpton, the organization's founder and president, was joined by Dr. Hazel Dukes, President of the NAACP New York State Conference, Assemblyman Michael Blake and other civil rights leaders that have expressed major concern about police policy and procedures in the city of New York for over two decades.

The group urged Commissioner Bratton's replacement, Chief of Department James O'Neill, to meet with them as soon as possible to discuss the problems and tension between police and communities of color.
