Latino Organizations Plan March from Trump Tower to NBC on Nov. 7

On Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), The Hispanic Federation, The Labor Council for the Latin American Advancement (LCLAA) and other Latino organizations will be marching from the Trump Tower, 725 5th Avenue, to NBC 30 Rockefeller Plaza.

The march will be held in protest of Donald Trump hosting the widely popular comedy show, Saturday Night Live (SNL).

A representative of LULAC stated, "There has been strong opposition to Trump hosting SNL this Saturday. Some individuals have suggested that we should not prevent Trump from hosting SNL but that instead, we should voice our opposition by not watching. This view misses the point. Trump has targeted Latinos with his racist and xenophobic remarks and his rhetoric is causing real harm to the Latino community. We cannot allow him the time nor a platform such as SNL to advance such views."

Those interested in taking part in the march are being urged by LULAC to go to http://lulac.org/bastatrump/ and RSVP for the Marcha to Stop the Hate.

The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights volunteer-based organization that empowers Hispanic Americans and builds strong Latino communities. Headquartered in Washington, DC, with 1000 councils around the United States and Puerto Rico, LULAC’s programs, services and advocacy address the most important issues for Latinos, meeting critical needs of today and the future.
