National Action Network to Honor Women Leading the Way Against Injustice and Inequality




WASHINGTON – National Action Network (NAN) will host its annual Action & Authority Reception Wednesday, September 16, 2015 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Human Rights Campaign headquarters in Washington, D.C. 

The event, which coincides with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference, will honor women who have made meaningful contributions to the ongoing battle against injustice and inequality. 

Hosted by NAN President and Founder Rev. Al Sharpton and NAN’s Executive Director Janaye Ingram, the annual event will feature leading women in politics, human rights and social justice.

This year's honorees are: The Honorable Mignon Clyburn, Commissioner, U.S. Federal Communications Commission, Lucia McBath, National Spokesperson, Everytown for Gun Safety/Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, The Honorable Terri Sewell, U.S. Representative, 7th District of Alabama, The Honorable Erica Thomas, Georgia State Representative, 39th House District and Alicin Williamson, Principal, The Raben Group.
